What are you doing, mine?
I am in the infirmary, Loyanth. You can't come in here. It's not a place for dragons. Shara is keeping you company, yes?
Yes. She doesn't like me very much though. Her scruff still stands on end and she watches me like I'm going to eat her or you. I would never. The dragon responded as he looked down at the canine pacing restlessly a dragonlength from where he lazed on rock near the lake. The Weyrling Master had given them a day off and he didn't see anyone in need of help where he could get to them..
Inside the infirmary J'rston chuckled, more content than he'd ever been, despite having learned that caring for a dragon took far more physical capacity than most of the other duties ever required of him. Most. Bathing patients who couldn't quite bear their own weight came very close... She will warm up to you. Give her time, my love. You are, after all, much much larger and intruded on a bond that's been formed for several turns. Spark likes you. Take heart in that..
I do. Is the hatchling okay, mine.
J'rston's fingers moved deftly over a child's skull as he looked sternly but kindly at her, a twinkle held in his eyes. "Now, there doesn't seem to be any new damage to your head. Let's have a look at that arm, shall we?" The child whimpered and J'rston smiled sympathetically.
"We can't fix it if we don't know what's wrong." He explained, gently taking the arm. A 'tsk tsk' was heard over another whimper that was followed by a supressed sob as J'rston's gentle fingers moved over the arm, probing and inspecting. All the while, part of his attention remained with the girl's reactions.. watching for when she showed signs of pain. "We've got a minor fracture here, Silla. Are you going to learn to be more careful about climbing the heights?"
The girl sniffed and nodded.

Dear-Mine, I don't want to have to stay down here by myself....Can't I go with you? Thoughts were a complaint, Norlith really not wanting to be separated from His as he stood down near the lake by himself. Or really, not by himself, for the liquid bronze form of Gyrunth was lounging beside him with red Crin resting along his back, peacefully sleeping.
You're not by yourself and stop complaining, I'm here. Besides, they'll be back. And we can't fit in the infirmary. The firm thoughts of Gyrunth answered the black so that S'rin and R'rin wouldn't have to. Mine, are you going to be alright? The bronze was worried, though not overly so. Norlith wasn't panicked, and neither was S'rin, so His wasn't hurt badly. But he could feel the pain in his foreleg...and he wanted it to stop.
"I'm fine. Just cut myself is all. S'rin's not gonna to let me live it down..." R'rin informed his bronze, giving a lopsided grin to his twin, who was prodding him along with an arm about his waist. "No kiddin' I'm not. What half glow cuts himself? After I told you to be careful?" S'rin was more of less muttering to himself, betraying his concern for his brother. They'd been in the kitchens on their free day, S'rin making his sweet rolls again when R'rin had tried to help. He'd gotten himself cut rather deeply on his finger with a knife, and his twin had bandaged it up with a rag and ordered him to the infirmary.
They stood just inside the doorway after they'd arrived, watching as J'rston helped a little girl. "He's good at that." S'rin remarked, eying the two of them with a smile, while his twin poked him in the ribs. "Oh come on, aren't you concerned about me, brother?" R'rin complained, making attempts to look pained to get his brother's attention. "Of course I do, dear brother. Even a half wit like you already knows that." S'rin remarked with a chuckle, leaning his head against the side of his twin's for a moment, as they awaited their turned for a Healer. Maybe J'rston would even help them when he was done. It wasn't like they had an emergency.

Thankful it was only a hairline and he wouldn't have to set the bones, J'rston sent Spark to get a rolled bandage."I'm glad you've learned something this time. This might hurt a little bit. Can be you brave for me?"
The little girl nodded and Loyanth chose than moment interrupt again. Mine, there are others here and Shara really doesn't like them.
The Amber's attention had been drawn to the Black and Bronze when Shara had stopped looking at him with her scruff raised and the rumble in her chest and started growling and barking in another direction.
Loyanth, I'm trying to treat a patient at the moment. He responded gently, as he began wrapping her arm from the wrist up. His attention wasn't so solely focused that he hadn't taken notice of the others that had walked in though. An acknowledging nod had been sent their way to let them know they'd be tended next. It must be their dragons that Shara had deemed too close for comfort.
I'm sorry, brothers. She doesn't like me either. She won't hurt you though. You are worried? Can I help? Loyanth asked.
Once the arm was wrapped snuggly up to the elbow he took the sling that Spark had already retrieved for him and showed her how to put it on and take it off. "Take this off when you sleep at night, but leave your arm wrapped. No climbing, no heavy lifting and no hard scrubbing for at least a month. Then come back and see me. If there's too much pain I can give your mum some fellis to put in your drink."
"No!" the child cried at the suggestion.
J'rston chuckled and ruffled her hair. "Go on then, let your mum know you've not done any damage to your brain and you've learned a lesson. I've got other patients waiting, Silla."
The child hopped off the cot and hurried from the room, still sniffling back tears, and J'rston turned took up his crutch and moved to the basin of scalding water used to sanatized their hands and tools between patients. Once he'd cleaned his hands, J'rston turned S'rin and R'rin. His eyes shifted to the rag and then back up to his fellow Weyrlings' faces. "What is it that's brought you to the infirmary today?" he asked, having already guessed what was under the rag but knowing it was better to ask than to assume.

As the canine started barking, Norlith took a step back, startled and clearly not sure what to do with the golden animal. Whirling gaze turned to Loyanth as the black maneuvered himself between his bronze brother and Shara. She won't bite will she? Why does she make that sound? I want Mine to come back. He went to the infirmary without me. Plaintive thoughts were directed toward the two dragons near him, and it was clear he wouldn't be alright until S'rin was standing next to him again. Oh how he fretted when His wasn't near.
Why doesn't she like us? I am not worried though....not much. Voice revealed that the bronze was indeed a little worried about the condition of His, but he wouldn't fall to pieces as Norlith would have. If she keeps yapping at me, I'm going to eat her. Gyrunth continued, hissing softly at the canine when she made to bark again. Shara was proving to be very annoying, and he didn't want to have to deal with her, not when his paw bothered him so. Or rather, R'rin's finger pained him.
S'rin watched as the girl escaped from the infirmary, grinning lopsidedly at his twin. "I think she complained less than you did, dear brother." He remarked with a chuckle, glancing to J'rston rose to sanitize his hands. R'rin snorted, taking a seat on a nearby stole as his brother clearly had his attention elsewhere--probably trying to console his lifemate.
At the amber weyrling's question, R'rin grinned almost sheepishly. "Well, I was helping S'rin in the kitchen, and sliced up my finger." He admitted, just as a burst of cold air signaled his silver flit's arrival. She chirped concernedly, alighting on his shoulder and rubbing her head along his jaw. She'd been busy breaking up a fight among Ivin and Emeren and hadn't even noticed her owner had been injured.
"I don't think my dear dimglow of a brother should be allowed in the kitchen. Unless it's as a taste tester." S'rin remarked, coming up behind R'rin and draping his arms around in a comforting motion. "I don't know if he needs stitches or anything, I just wrapped his finger up to bring him here."

Mine, the bronze says he will eat Shara. Loyanth reported.
J'rston didn't resond, the impression given that the dragon shouldn't distract him when he was with patients. "Accidents happen and generally one comes out better for the pain they sometimes cause and the lessons they teach," he responded to S'rin's first remark while reaching to gently take R'rin's wrapped hand.
"Shall we have a look then?" he asked, not really waiting for an answer before he began to unwrap the injury.
We are bigger than her and could eat her or J'rston. She is afraid. My rider would be very upset if you hurt her. Loyanth responded after some deliberation over the matter. He turned his attention to Shara, brought his head level with her body and let out his own deep throat growl followed immediately with a loud bulge. The sound drowned out her barks and made her pause, a whimper automatically following the dragon's silence. Tail between her legs, Shara trotted to wait closer to the infirmary, keeping a wary eye to the dragons.
There. She won't bother you for now. You need not worry about yours. He will be okay. Mine is working in the infirmary and he is a good healer. Loyanth stated matter-of-factly, though his tone was one meant to sooth. He had every confidence that both riders would be fine if they were with his.
