Weyrlingmaster F'ral and Brown Vorith

Appearance: F'ral likes to keep clean and acceptable. His dark brown hair is always combed at least enough to detangle it, if not enough to give it a subtle shine. His hair has a few gray strands, but it's to be expected from Turns of teaching weyrlings. It's cropped short, and is no more than an inch long anywhere on his head. F'ral's eyes are dark brown. His eyes aren't very expressive, but that works for him. F'ral is rather pale, but not to the point of burning very easily. He is darker on his arms and his legs, where the sun hits in summer. F'ral is a rather muscular man, and standing at 5'11", he's tall, too. It gives him a sleek appearance that matches Vorith, and he likes it that way.

Personality: F'ral loves working with weyrlings. He knows that sometimes the future of the Weyr is in his hands, and he likes being a leader. F'ral doesn't exactly have the leadership qualities he would need to Impress a bronze, but his steadfastness makes him perfect for Vorith. He is the tiniest bit stubborn, but will never admit it. F'ral despises anyone who thinks they are better than anyone else, especially during weyrlinghood. He has strict policies about discrimination between the different colors, and he knows how to enforce it.

History: F'ral, then Fileral, was born in Oresia Weyr to a drudge mother and a dragonrider father. His father was a bluerider, that F'ral knows, but he doesn't know his name. His birthmother's name was Lerrai, but as F'ral grew older, every woman in the kitchen was a surrogate mother. There were few other children his age, so F'ral, not being confident enough to play with the older boys, developed a small band consisting of himself, then five Turns, and four or five other boys. Some were just beginning to walk and talk, but one in the group was actually F'ral's age. Her name was Melarey, and she was more of a tomboy than a real girl. Her parents were at Fort Hold, but they sent her to live with her uncle at the Weyr to learn better manners. Melarey and F'ral were inseperable for two Turns, when her parents called her back to the Hold. F'ral was devastated until a month later, when Melarey returned to the Weyr. She told F'ral that her parents didn't like that she liked another girl instead of a boy, so they sent her back so the information didn't get out.

F'ral and Melarey spent three more Turns together, with her parents asking periodically if she had changed her mind. She hadn't, which resulted in her parents disowning her. Melarey said they were sending her to Impress, but F'ral, being slightly better educated, knew that she was not welcome at the Hold because of her preferences. F'ral pretended that he believed her, and stood in the stands and watched as Melarey Stood for the first clutch she was old enough to Stand for. She Impressed, to a beautiful green named Creseth. Mel, as she called herself now, broke her ties with F'ral while she went through the rigors of Weyrling Training. F'ral decided that he would find her after she graduated, and be Impressed when he did.

F'ral kept his promise, Impressing brown Vorith at the second clutch he Stood for. He decided that he would be a Weyrlingmaster during weyrling training, because his 'Master was always organized, perfect, and his lessons were always fun. Mel had graduated by the time F'ral was halfway through his training, but still he kept his vow. The day after graduation, Creseth Rose. Vorith, even though he had only competed once, caught her. F'ral and Mel were once again friends, but they had developed different interests and drifted farther and farther apart.

When F'ral was twenty, the previous Weyrlingmaster retired and the Weyrleaders opened up the position to the entire Weyr. F'ral was one of the seven to apply and get through the extraction of weyrlings, Candidates, and the extremely old and young. F'ral got the job just in time for a Goldflight. F'ral spent the four and a half months of waiting for the Hatching completely redoing the previous Weyrlingmaster's plans, as well as gathering materials for the first few months of lessons.

It turns out, he was due for a long time as Weyrlingmaster. Many of the younger dragonriders were his students, and he is well-known for bringing in other riders to assist in his lessons.

Name: Vorith

Color/Appearance: Brown Vorith is basically your standard brown: medium in length and wingspan, not particularly light or dark. He is a bit more muscled than a normal brown, and therefore not as agile in the air.

Personality: Vorith is the type who tells you what you're doing wrong, all the time. He's not critical, per say, since he will also point out strengths, but he doesn't hesitate to mention weaknesses. Vorith has a strong memory, stronger than most browns and many bronzes, and works at learning every weyrling's name. He isn't amazing at it, but will definitely know everyone two weeks after Impression.
